Soft Washing

Soft Washing uses a low-pressure stream of water (less than 500 PSI) combined with a cleaning solution (detergents, algaecides, bleach, etc.). The cleaning solution breaks down organic stains, mildew, and algae, and the low-pressure water then rinses them away.

Ideal for: Delicate surfaces like vinyl siding, stucco, roofs, decks, and fences to prevent damage.

When to Use Soft Washing (and NOT Pressure Washing):

Roofs (Asphalt Shingles, Tile, Metal): High-pressure washing can severely damage roof shingles, dislodge granules, force water under tiles, and even void warranties. Soft washing is the universally recommended method for cleaning roofs, effectively killing and removing algae (black streaks), moss, and lichen without damaging the material.

House Siding (Vinyl, Stucco, Wood, Painted Surfaces, Dryvit, EIFS): Pressure washing can easily etch, crack, or strip paint from siding, force water behind panels, and damage the integrity of the material. Soft washing gently cleans these surfaces by dissolving organic growth and dirt, preventing damage and often leaving a cleaner, longer-lasting result.

Delicate Fences (Wood, Vinyl): While pressure washing can be used on some durable fences with extreme caution, soft washing is much safer for most wooden fences (especially older ones) and vinyl, preventing splintering, warping, or discoloration.

Outdoor Furniture: Most outdoor furniture (plastic, wicker, painted metal) is too delicate for high-pressure washing. Soft washing with appropriate cleaners can remove dirt, mold, and mildew safely.

Windows and Screens: High pressure can break windows, tear screens, and force water into window frames, leading to interior damage. Soft washing is the only safe method for cleaning windows and screens.

Soft Wash Benefit

Unlike pressure washing that might only clean the very surface, soft washing solutions penetrate deep into the pores of the deck material. They effectively kill and remove mold, mildew, algae, fungi, and bacteria at their source, preventing their immediate regrowth. This results in a much cleaner and longer-lasting
